Along with the bleating of feral goats in the valley to my left, my attention was alerted by voices to my right as people struggled up Bristly Ridge. The previous evening a fellow hosteller told me how he slid awkwardly from Glyder Fach to Bwlch Tryfan. This, I guessed, was the scene of that ungainly descent via a loose and unpredictable path. All the routes described lie within the northern half of the Snowdonia National Park. Includes the Glyders - mostly concentrated on Tryfan, Glyder Fach and Glyder Fawr - the Snowdon group, Carneddau and Eifionydd regions. Routes range from scrambly walks to .

Me and a mate did Tryfan, Glyder Fach and Glyder Fawr about 25 years ago and it’s still one of my favourite walks ever. Starting with the highest, these include Glyder Fawr (1, m), Glyder Fach ( m), Y Garn ( m), Elidir Fawr ( m) and Tryfan ( m). Named after the highest peaks in the range, the name ‘Glyderau’ or ‘Glyder’ in its single form derives from the .

A Walk up Tryfan and the Glyders Range In May , my friend Paul and I decided to take a walk and/or scramble up the Tryfan mountain (approx feet or metres) and then over the rest of the Glyder Range with Glyder Fach (feet or metres) and Glyder Fawr (feet or metres) and to then drop down into Cwm idwal and back to the.   The Miner's Track high above the head of Cwn Tryfan leads from Bwlch Tryfan to the E shoulder of Glyder Fach Far in the distance on the broad E shoulder of Glyder Fach nestles Llyn y Caseg-fraith with the bulk of Y Foel Goch rising beyond.
